Close Up: The Ministerial Credit Card Scandal
June 18, 2010 | 1 Comment
Former Labour Minister Shane Jones fronts up to Close Up’s questions over his ministerial spending. For sheer front, you’ve got to give it to Shane Jones – he lined up and admitted to charging porn movies onto his taxpayer funded ministerial credit card. He and a number of fellow former ministers have had their expenses hung out for all to see, and it’s disturbing reading. In Shane Jones’ case, loose is probably the most accurate way to describe it. Charges to his ministerial credit card included not only the “adult films,” but CDs at the Warehouse, rugby gear from sporting stores and breakfast for his sons. Was this arrogance (I’m a minister, so I can do what I like) or bad judgement? In which case, can you trust him in the future – issues Jones has been reflecting on today with many suggesting he’s finished. Jones spoke live to Mark Sainsbury on Close Up. But also fronting up was former Maori Affairs Minister Parekura Horomia who spent hundreds of dollars on meals (many at a Chinese restaurant in Wellington), and has reimbursed some of the spending. Close Up approached other MPs who were mentioned in the credit card spending documents – Chris Carter didn’t come back to us about his expenditure on flowers, dinners and kitchenware, and Tim Groser’s explanation for a 6 mini bar bill in Copenhagen last …
Senate gridlock, 2 party fraud, credit card cap, supreme court rules on election money, EPA-CO2

www.platformforthefuture.com The Stench of Truth (280).mp4 We can hope for AT LEAST gridlock in the Senate since Brown won. There are many permutations on this issue. We need to focus on independent candidates, that is independent of corporate money. We need to focus on breaking the dialectic of the two party fraud. We need to go after the banks and credit cards hard. A national usury rate would be a great first step. There is a bill in the House to do so, work to get it passed. The supreme court has ruled basically that corporations and unions as well as other special interest groups can spend freely on elections. This might not be all bad as it might reveal the truth we all know to the stupid MSM zombies that the corporations already run the show. They may act so obviously and egregiously that even blind people would be forced to see it. There is also a bill in the senate to stop the EPA from regulating CO2. This is good news and should be supported as it will at least slow down the actions on “climate change” and prevent unilateral action on the part of this administration.
